One Snack Line, Packed and Palletized by Brenton

Brenton XCP Series continuous motion case packer

Brenton builds a full lineup of case packers and palletizers, from continuous motion and side load case packing through robotic and conventional palletizing. That range lets us match equipment to the application rather than forcing the application to fit the machine. Snack production is one of the clearest places to see why that matters, since the products are delicate, the formats vary, and the SKUs rarely sit still.

Gentle handling is built into the motion

The XCP Series continuous motion case packer loads products directly into wrap-around cases at up to 70 cases per minute. Because motion stays continuous, product is contained and controlled at the case transfer point rather than stopped at the sweep, which is one of the most common spots for jams and product damage. For snack formats that dent, scuff, or crush easily, controlled transfer matters as much as the throughput number.

Multiple SKUs are the real test, and the XCP is designed around fast, repeatable changeover. Operators stay within six inches of the corrugate blank at all operator-side access points, corrugate loads flat at ground level, and optional changeover assist screens guide the team through each adjustment. The result is less time between runs and more consistency when you switch from one snack size to the next.

"Choosing Brenton the first time for our snack pouch application was the best decision we made. So much so that when it came time to add our next line, we already knew who to call as our OEM partner." - XCP Customer

From case to pallet on one line

Brenton RP1000 high-speed robotic palletizer

Once cases are packed, the RP1000 Robotic Palletizer carries the same handling discipline to the pallet. It supports single or multi-line systems with flexible feed and discharge layouts, and end-of-arm tooling is selected or custom built to fit the product, whether that means vacuum, clamp-style, or bag grippers. Pallet building runs through the HMI and PLC rather than a teach pendant, so pattern changes stay in operator reach. For lines that finish with stretch wrap, the RP1000 integrates with an Orion stretch wrapper to close out the cell.

For snack operations running several formats at once, the RP1000 builds mixed-layer patterns and handles cases, bundles, bags, and large or irregular packs with multi-zoned grippers. Integrated pallet building software lets the team edit layer patterns, pallet dimensions, and slip sheets on the HMI, so a new SKU or pallet spec does not mean a long changeover. Safety is built into the cell with wire mesh fencing, polycarbonate enclosures, and safety-rated light curtains at the pallet discharge. The result is a palletizer that keeps pace with a high-mix snack line without adding labor to the back of the system.

One example of an industry-leading system

The XCP paired with the RP1000 is one example of how Brenton solves snack industry applications as a single, industry-leading system solution. It is not the only path. we have built the lineup and the integration experience to design the right combination for your product, your case format, and your pallet pattern. Every system is built in-house at our Alexandria, Minnesota facility, including the auxiliary equipment, so the full system comes from one team.
